Are you using on line forms for applications and registration? Schools are moving away from paper in the classroom so maybe it is time to move away from paper for your application and registration process. More and more schools are finding that parents expect it! They want the convenience of clicking on a link and completing a form without having to send it via the mail or stop by the school to pick up a paper form.

Some schools express concern that online forms will take away from the personal experience of getting to know a new family as part of the application process. In reality, it doesn't! Schools using online forms make it easier for new families to express interest and making it faster and easier to learn about a new family.

In truth, the change is not what is asked on an online form but the internal process that is used! The result - new parents can apply when they have a moment in their day. Current families can register quickly and take advantage of information already stored in SchoolSpeak. And administrators can use tools to make the process easier - easy new family profile creation, updates to current information, reports to track who has registered and options chosen as well as ways to determine enrollment for next year.

So let's take a look at the process and options:

1. Applications - For new families or families with new students.
- Create a simple application that takes just a few minutes for a new family to complete
- Ask for only the information that you need to invite the family for a tour or a visit. We can use the profiles to get information like emergency contacts, doctor and dentist later!
- Link the form to your website so that parents that are reviewing your website can easily find and complete the form. YES- the form in SchoolSpeak can be made public!!
