Using SchoolSpeak Permissions

There are 3 basic levels of permissions in SchoolSpeak - Account Admin, group admin and resource permissions. Each of the permissions works with each other allowing the SchoolSpeak Administrator to provide each member of their school with the ability to see and work on the resources and tools that are necessary.

Commonly Asked Questions
Does the homeroom teacher need EDIT access on the gradebook resource?
It will depend. In a contained classroom where the homeroom teacher is responsible for teaching all of the subjects then the teacher will have edit permission on the gradebook. But if there is another teacher teaching a specific subject such as math, then it is up to the school or the teachers if the homeroom teacher must be on the permission. An alternative is to list the teacher on the View but not edit permission in the configure gradebook settings.

Can a teacher or staff member share the ability to edit a resource?
Yes, you may list as many staff members as necessary on the edit permission. But be careful to add only those persons who really need access - the person with EDIT access is able to change the settings on that resource.
