Prepare for New School Year

Preparing for the new school year starts as soon as your current year is done. SchoolSpeak's Prepare for new school year makes this an easy to step through process. This tool is designed to work in 4 easy steps from choosing what files you would like to archive to moving the students to preparing the gradebooks for next year.
 
 
 
Where is the Prepare for new school year admin tool?
Click on Admin at the top of the page
Scroll to the section on the left called Manage Resources
Locate and Click on the Prepare for New School year tool
 
Is this where we archive?
Yes and much more. Archiving or saving a copy of the current year's data to a read only file is only a part of this process. The Prepare for New School year tool will walk you  through setting up the date for the archive as well as your new terms dates as part of step 2.
 
Where will my archive be?
You may easily find your archive when you log into SchoolSpeak on the upper right hand corner just below the banner.
 
Why should I wait at least 10 days before I run this utility?
Once SchoolSpeak saves the data it is in a read only format. The wait time provides you with a safety net just in case teachers need to modify a particular grade. 
 
Why should I promote my graduates first?
You need to take care of the graduates first because you cannot promoted the next class in line unless the current class has been moved out of the group. Don't forget to include the parents too! 
 
When should I move my new students into the grade groups?
Once you have promoted the current students, you may start moving the new students in to their classroom groups.
